Shorts

I found these cute polka dot shorts at the Gap Outlet and loved them, but they were way too short. They were only $2, so i bought a pair that fit me and a pair that was a size 16 to use the extra fabric to add length. The lengthening process was a little... tricky. I had to do what my old boss Amanda used to call "fancy sewing". In the end i wasn't pleased with the seam in the middle of my thigh, and the old hem-lines that were darker and very visible, so i got out some cute crocheted trim lace that i had and i covered up all the things that i wanted hidden. I think they turned out alright... not my very favorite work, but pretty good for $4 shorts, and they will work fine to finish out this hot summer. Sorry for no before pictures, and for the very terrible after pictures that i took with my phone.

Big News

I am happy to announce that I've been accepted into the Masters degree program MFA in Costume Design at Utah State University. It has been a whirlwind of a summer, and i didn't have any idea where my life was headed when this summer began. This past year has been hard. REALLY hard, and in the last couple months my entire life has changed for the better. It's amazing how as much as we try to plan our lives, we never can seem to understand what will truly make our lives the most fulfilled and happy until it comes unexpectedly into our lives. I never would have believed you if you told me a year ago (or even in the last 6 months) where i would be today.

The Lyric build season is over, meaning all the shows are up, and all of the costumes are built, so my job is over. I want to encourage anyone within a reasonable distance of Logan, Utah to check our schedule and GO see the shows!! http://arts.usu.edu/lyric/ Check out the remaining shows and times on our website.

We got some production shots back from Spencer Potter for 2 of the shows, and i thought i would get you excited for when you go to see the shows *hint*. These are from The Drowsy Chaperone, and James and the Giant Peach... see if you know which is which... also, note the BATHING costume especially(that you should recognize from numerous previous posts... as it was one of my many start-to-finish builds this summer.)

James and the Giant Peach

This is James and the Giant Peach... i'm too tired to say much about it... other than, it was a fun show, and i wish we had more time to work on it. Drowsy Chaperone ate up a LOT of time for this show, which was a shame, as Darrin's designs were wild and fun. (the publicity photos are courtesy of Spencer Potter)

I hate math.

Portfolio

I've been putting together my photo portfolio for Grad School, and thought i would share some things from over the years that i'm proud of. These span about 10 shows (although i have been a part of about 30+)(publicity photos courtesy of Spencer Potter)
